Our Founder

“TLC Kids Therapy began as a labor of love to help children with special needs. We have always believed that every child has a voice, if only we listen closely enough, and that behavior is a form of communication. Our role is to understand what a child is trying to tell us and to support them in ways that feel safe, respectful, and empowering.

As we have grown, our mission has grown with us. With the addition of ABA with TLC, we are expanding our support to meet each child’s needs more fully through collaboration, play, sensory understanding, and individualized care. Our ABA program reflects the same love, patience, and child-led philosophy that TLC was built on.

Our mission remains the same:
To be a blessing to children and their families, to honor their journey, and to believe deeply in the miracles that growth and love can create.

What we specialize in

  • We look at the whole child, the sensory needs, communication, emotional well-being, motivation, and environment to create plans that truly support growth, not just behavior change.

  • One team, one goal: your child’s success. Our in-house ABA, OT, PT, and Speech teams work together every day to ensure therapy is consistent, comprehensive, and tailored to your child’s unique needs.

  • We focus on understanding why behaviors happen, not just stopping them. Our approach teaches new, functional skills that help children feel safe, supported, and successful in everyday routines.

  • Every child has a voice. Whether through words, gestures, visuals, or AAC, we work to help children express their needs clearly and confidently while honoring their unique communication style.

  • We help children build genuine, meaningful connections by teaching the foundations of friendship, sharing, turn-taking, emotional understanding, and navigating social moments with confidence.

  • From getting dressed to brushing teeth, we guide children step-by-step toward independence, helping them build confidence and celebrate every small win along the way.

  • We teach practical, real-world skills that help children understand expectations, build self-control, and make confident choices at home, school, and in the community.

  • We teach practical, real-world skills that help children understand expectations, build self-control, and make confident choices at home, school, and in the community.

  • Safety is our priority. We create individualized plans to reduce wandering, strengthen awareness, and help children respond to boundaries and safety cues.

  • Our team uses gentle, evidence-based strategies to understand triggers, reduce stress, and teach safer, more effective ways to communicate needs, all while keeping dignity and emotional safety at the center.

  • We work closely with families to identify sensory, emotional, or communication-based reasons behind self-injury and replace it with safer, supportive coping skills.
